The Philips Avent Classic PP Feeding Bottles have been trusted by mothers since 1984, and continues to be the preferred choice of many mums.

Designed for an enjoyable and easy feeding experience, it is clinically proven to reduce colic and discomfort. As your baby feeds, the unique valve on the teat flexes to allow air into the bottle instead of your baby’s tummy. Wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. Comfortable shape, easy to hold even for baby’s tiny hands.

Unlike other bottles, the clinically proven anti-colic system is now integrated into the teat, making it easier to assemble the bottle correctly. As your baby feeds, the unique valve on the teat opens to allow air into the bottle instead of your baby's tummy.

Sleep and nutrition are vital to your baby's health and happiness. A randomised clinical trial was carried out to see whether infant baby bottle design affects "infant behavior". The Philips Avent Classic baby bottle was shown to significantly reduce fussing by approximately 28 minutes a day as compared to the comparator bottle (46 min vs 74 min, p=0.05) This was especially true during the night-time.

Teat too big

I purchased these bottles when my daughter was first born. I really liked that they were stocked at my local Woolworths store and readily available. I found the teat was too big and wide for a little mouth. I landed up purchasing a smaller more petite bottle Which my daughter preferred.

great size for newborns, wide teat, but pin prick holds clog with formula

I have tried these with two kids. the bottle is a great size for newborns, and is easy to store and hold. I find that the pinprick holes are great for breast milk, and the various flow rates are great as baby grows, but they clog too easily with formula which frustrates my babies. An x shaped hole is much better with formula.

Excellent for mix feeding

I first introduced one bottle a day to my daughter when she was 4 weeks old. I was nervous about nipple confusion but never had that issue whilst using this bottle. She took to both the breast and bottle with no preference. Once she was a bit older I then transitioned to the larger 260ml bottles and and the 2 rating flow teet. This made for transition from breast feeding to bottle feeding a breeze!

I have used these since my son was about two months old! I love the bottles, the are easy to clean, have remained in good condition and my son enjoys drinking from them. I have found the test flow age suggestions to be abit out though.

We tried many bottles for my breastfed bubba to take so I could go back to University. The Avent Classic is the only one she will take and we absolutely love them!! Easy to pull apart and put back together, easy to clean AND they also fit into the Spectra breast pump! Which is another plus. We LOVE these bottles.

I bought two packs of three 2 months ago and this brand is the one my baby likes, easy to take apart and wash. She latches well to them and I like how you can change the size of the nipple when needed. Highly recommended !

Appropriate flow but awkward shaped teat.

I love most Avent branded items, simply because most of the time the Avent items are tried and tested and have the word of mouth to support them. But in this case, I was torn... I loved the flow of the teats, they were age appropriate at each stage, and the bottles themselves were a great material and shape which meant easier to clean but the negative comment I do have is in regards to the shape of the teat. They aren't too close to the reality of a mothers nipple which is what they claim to have and the length of the teat is quite long and in some cases with newborns- too long and is uncomfortable for the baby to use. One thing I have come across in my mothering life is that every baby is different, these bottles/teats might be perfect for other babies. Thanks :-)

I have used the Advent bottles for my previous 2 child and now with my newborn. I have never had an issue with them taking to these bottles which I helpful if I need to express and bottle feed bub.

This is a great little bottle to start your baby on. It's the only bottle my son would take and also that didn't leak. I tried so many due to his excessive vomiting and it was really good. He didn't get a lot of air and it helped ease his colic.
