Did not work for us

After trying every soother on the market I decided to try these and it just didn’t work. Most soother my daughter would at least for a short time but these were just a complete fail for us.

Too hard for baby to suck
Reviewed on 27 July 2018
Unfortunately these are a product I just cannot recommend. I found that they were extremely hard material and in order for my baby to keep this in his mouth he had to suck extremely hard. I purchased them at 8 weeks old as he was showing signs of some mouth discomfort and I liked that I could place my finger inside the bears "nose" and he could suckle. However, as soon as my finger came out he just didn't have the strength to continue sucking on this. The shape is very unique and different to most soothers and he just didn't seem to understand how to get around it. Also, the teat is extremely long compared to a usual dummy. Maybe if used from birth it might work okay, but certainly did not for my son.

Hit and miss
Reviewed on 23 July 2018
My bubs is now 14 weeks and sometimes loved this dummy and sometimes would spit it straight out. The size of dummy a little large for a newborn and can literally take up the whole face. When my daughter had her tongue tie fixed the dummy was to hard for her to suck and she just rejected it. I have now moved onto a smaller dummy under the advisement of an oestopath.

Suck it an see
Reviewed on 17 May 2018
We bought this a few months ago and found it to be a great dummy in terms of shape. It was a lite big to fit a new born's face. My bub had trouble keeping it in his mouth which in his case turned out to be because of a posterior tongue Tie. After the treatment they don't recommend using dummies because we need to encourage a better latch and dummies can sometimes encourage a shallow latch.

Sanity saver!
Reviewed on 28 March 2018
Truly a sanity saver! When my second child wouldn’t take the normal avent dummies I panicked - she had terrible colic and our paediatrician recomended a dummy to help. Unfortunately no matter how hard I tried she wouldn’t take them. I was hesitant to shy away from avent as they’re such a trusted well known brand so I was so relieved to see they had brought out the “cherry” style dummies! My daughter took one immediatey and we haven’t looked back since! The only downfall is the fact they’re not readily available in every Woolworths like the normal shaped avent dummies so they are quite hard to come by.

My little one's favourite
Reviewed on 28 November 2017
This is my baby's absolute favourite dummy! I was initially against dummies and was pretty close minded about them until one night in the hospital after having my baby, I was woken up from my sleep by a nurse saying my baby is not settling and she asked if she could give my baby a dummy and I said yes. When I truly came to my senses I was a little alarmed of what had happened but I am also glad because my baby uses this as one of her self settling techniques. I like using one piece dummies, it gives me peace of mind knowing that no parts can accidentally come apart and become a hazard. We came across these dummies by accident at the hospital, they gave Stella a Jollypop dummy and she's only liked similar style dummies since. She has lots of other ones given to her but she doesn't seem to take to those ones as well. This dummy is easy to clean and sterlises with the bottles. My baby is teething so she likes chewing on the bunny ears. The downside is that it looks strange (as many people have pointed out) that you can see inside the dummy which doesn't bother me and if I really had to be picky, I wish there was another spot to put my dummy clip on instead of the eyes of the bear. I can only use string tied dummy clips on this. Plus side, they look so cute!

Difficult for babies to use
Reviewed on 30 October 2017
I am a fan of all avent products and use all their branded bottles, sterilized and pumps but find their dummies so impractical. My 7 week old finds it hard to keep it in as there's no shape to it to keep lips and mouth over it and latch on.

Soothies are amazing. They may look a little strange but do the trick. You pop your finger in the middle and bub instantly sucks. I asked my Facebook Mums group what dummies they thought were best and they recommended Soothies. I did however have a hard time tracking them down but discovered that Chemist warehouse stock them. Love the soft colours too: light blue, green, pink and purple. They are super easy to clean. Only downfall is I wish you could attach a dummy chain.

Good dummy but my baby isn't into dummies!
Reviewed on 18 August 2017
I tried this as my friend recommended it and my baby doesn't take dummies. She's 10 weeks old and still isn't into them, she just likes skin and fabric. She chews on this dummy and will occasionally take the dummy if desperate in the car. It is easier for her to take it than other dummies, as I think the texture is more natural and has more grip. The large surface area makes it easier for her too as I feel it's more like having the breast pressed against her mouth. It seems a bit heavy for her though and she can't keep it in, but at the same time she's just not used to dummies. I find the dummy easy to hold with the little tag off the back, and easy to store and clean. It seems very durable as well and I like that there aren't small bits to clean, just one solid piece. I bought 4 of these, to have some as spares, so hope one day she takes them!

My baby is picky but he likes this one
Reviewed on 31 July 2017
I have spent a small fortune on dummies for my baby. He has tried 7 different brands of dummy, he would like one for a few weeks and then all of a sudden go completely off it. I was determined to find one he liked as he was starting to use me as a dummy and wanting to be on the breast all the time. I finally came across this bear soother and thought I would give it a try as it is a different texture to the other silicone dummies we have tried and he also likes to suck on your finger so I thought being that this one was a bit firmer he may prefer it. Success!!! He took it 😀

When my LO was born he wouldn't take a dummy and would only settle with our pinky in his mouth. After spending a small fortune try's by all other dummies we tried this one. It was the only one he would take. The mouth guard looks a bit big and it looks funny but it worked for us.

We absolutely loved this soother! It meant you could simulate giving our son your pinky to suck on but saved him from all the germs! He took to it straight away withou any fuss and from what the midwives told me this is type of dummy they give to premmie babies

Can't live without this!!!
Reviewed on 05 April 2017
This is the only dummy my daughter would take. The hole in the middle allows you to stick your finger in the middle to encourage sucking. My daughter actually sticks her own finger in the dummy now when she is upset to soothe herself! I have been buying these from the US as I never knew they were available in Australia!! This is the best news ever!!!!
