Pigeon Manual Breast Pump

Got this for a steal on sale when I was starting to leak in public, I didn’t have high expectations for a relatively cheap hand held pump but I was blown away by how good it was! It worked beautifully, easy to use, I found the fact that it was manual meant I could make expressing more comfortablefor myself by using just the right amount of pressure. Great value buy that I still use! Con: sore thumb if it’s a long pump

The pigeon breast pump, is unlike any other pump i have tried. I have used the bigger name brands such as Avent and tommee tipee. Neither compares. It was easy to set up, (without reading instructions), good suction/fit on the breast, very comfortable, i loved the different fits of flanges for the pump and i couldn't believe how much milk i could pump out. When it come to pulling it apart it was easy and very easy to clean. All the parts fitted in my steriliser. im soo happy with this product. For my next child i will be looking into the electric version though just so my hands dont get sore pumping all the time.

I bought this pump to take to a conference that I had to attend for work. I knew I may not have access to a power point & I would need to ensure I could relieve the pressure to ensure I was comfortable. Enter the Pigeon Manual Breast Pump. I chose this pump as its super easy to assemble & to clean. It also packs up small enough to fit into a middle sized handbag.

I was drawn to a manual breast pump as it was fully mobile unlike my electric pump which needs to he plugged in. I've used an electric pump with two children now and wasn't quite sure what to expect with a manual pump. I loved that it was very simple to put together and that it was very easy to clean and this made me confident that the pieces would be perfectly sterilised. The downside was the actual sensation and I did feel pain. I'm not sure if this is because I have only ever used electric breast pumps. I am going to persevere however as this pump would be great for the job industry I work in which can have me on the go at a moments notice. I also liked how it came with an extra bottle and some sample breast pads. Overall whilst I felt pain I feel this is because I haven't ever used a manual pump. I'll keep persevering.

After using an electric pump for 7 months i was a bit sceptical about the efficiency of a manual pump. I was pleasantly surprised! I find that it worked much better as i was able to control the speed and pressure of each pump. It was so much quieter and i was able to get up and move about whilst expressing (with a child newly on the move this was awesome!) It is easy to put together and to take apart which is perfect for cleaning and storage, although the adjustable handle took a few goes to get used to. The pack also came with a complete wide neck bottle (one of the only bottles my child will use), sample of breast pads and 2 different sizes for the section that attached to the breast. It also comes with a stand which is such a great idea as countless times i had knocked previously exoressed bottles over in a rush when getting up for bub whilst pumping. This was much more than i got with my electric pump! Perfectly suits my lifestyle as i only express once or twice a week. I won't be using my electric pump again.

After using an electric pump for a while, I thought a manual pump would be tedious. I was wrong! The Pigeon pump was easy to use and gave me the same yield as an electric pump. The soft silicone makes it gentle against the skin. Being able to control the intensity of the pumping meant no risk of over-pumping and sore nipples. Plus points for not having to be stuck in one spot! I've used it while working and didn't have to look for a plug point. With less parts to wash, I would recommend the Pigeon manual pump for anyone that wants a simple, fuss free option. Negatives, the pump doesn't fit the Pigeon slim neck bottles or any other brand's storage bottles.

I really enjoyed using this breast pump. It was comfortable and easy to use and clean. I appreciated the second flange (breast suction cup) option which was a large version of the also included regular size; I personally didn't need the large one but know a few people that would benefit from it and have in fact let them know. The suction was also very subtle but did the job. I also liked the Stimulation mode which didn't take much time at all before the expression of milk and I must say that I believe it made a difference. I normally would try the more known brands but I really liked the Pigeon manual breast pump. The only negative I would have would be that the suction cup is a bit too hard - I have sensitive breasts, so this did play a factor. Thanks Pigeon
