Manduca baby carriers tick all the boxes for safe babywearing.

THE 'M' POSITION - TRUST MOTHER NATURE TO GET IT RIGHT
With manduca® you can rest assured that your child is always safely cradled in the M-Position®. The M-Position is baby's natural seating and carrying position, and is recommended by chiropractors, paediatricians and orthopaedic specialists alike. The seating position of your baby is especially important in the first few months, as the spine and pelvis are not yet fully developed.

In the M-Position, a baby's knees are in line with their belly button and gently spread to the sides (like a frog's); but and legs are forming an M. Your baby's pelvis will slide to the front; the back will assume the age-appropriate, rounded C-shape.In the M-Position, there is no unnecessary strain and the possibility of later skeletal malformations is greatly reduced. But not only is the M-Position orthopedically correct, it's also simply comfortable.

If you've ever picked up a baby for a good cuddle, you may have noticed that most of them instinctively lift their legs and bend their backs. And yes, even we grown-ups often naturally choose this position when we're huddling up with a blanket on a lazy afternoon. A bit like children in the Manduca, really.

The International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) recognises that Manduca has developed products that consider the importance of healthy hip development during infancy.
This is especially important during the early stages of hip development in the first few months after birth.
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute acknowledges specific products as "hip-healthy" to help educate the public.
Manduca baby carriers support your baby in the M-position: the orthopedically correct for healthy hip development. The spread-squat position is the position babies automatically assume when you pick them up: they automatically bend their legs up - like a small monkey - and prepare themselves instinctively to be carried.

So comfortable!
Reviewed on 29 November 2018
The best points about Manduca Classic are the comfortable shoulder straps and wide waist best. My stiff back problem was exacerbated after having baby and this was the perfect carrier to provide excellent back and shoulder support to help ease the pain. After a few practices, it is easy to put on with buckles at the back and waist. The carrier can be unzipped and extended to give baby more neck support when needed which I find very useful as baby grows bigger. Baby sleeps so well in it and the shape of the pocket/seat positions baby comfortably in the best position for their development! It fits perfectly both for myself (160cm) and husband (180cm). The only complaint I can think of is lack of colour choices (which really is nothing for me compared to all the positives!)

This is an excellent carrier, we got it for hubby, it was reccomended as good for plus size, my hubby is over 6ft and a 3-4xl and this fits him amazingly, he loves to baby wear in it, and bub loves being close to her daddy in it.

Best buy!
Reviewed on 25 September 2018
I bought this for my first bub and really loved it. My husband and I are very different in heights but we both can use it comfortably! It is very easy to put on and to adjust. But the best thing is you can use it right away from newborn with no additional setup. The built in head cover is also very handy when it rains or when bub is sleeping to hold their head. I get so many use out of it - can’t fault it!

Babywear with Ease

Although not having as many colour/pattern options as many other brands on the market, the manduca was our go-to carrier during our days with a newborn & 21mth old. The built-in newborn insert allowed me to easily swap both kids between the carrier & pram without the need for extra attachments. I also found the fabric softer than many other structured carriers around which was especially great for younger infants. As a Mum with a combination of lower back conditions the Manduca has been a lifesaver- a lot more comfortable than carrying bub on my hip & much easier on my back than getting the pram in & out of the car for super quick trips to get milk etc.

SOOOO Coformtable

After trying a different brand of carrier that my son didn't love I tried this carrier and gosh was I in love. My son loved it and fell asleep each and every time I put him in it, even during a dance workout. I have always suffered for lower back issues and the lower back support was fantastic. I love my Manduca and recommend it to all my pregnant friends.

So good for us
Reviewed on 22 November 2017
The Manduca is one of the best soft-structured carriers available. Very versatile, can cross straps, can carry on front, back or hip which allows curious babies to look out at the world without needing to go "forward facing" (and there are suggested ergonomic and developmental reasons why this is preferable). Very easy to breastfeed in. The very simple infant seat built into the carrier means no extra purchase or part to keep track of, and because it is not a bulky cushion style it is just as cool and comfortable as the rest of the carrier. I found this great even in summer because we could actually get airflow in through our sides, unlike in my wraps. I am still using ours with our tall 11kg toddler, on my back for long walks, shopping etc and on my front for breastfeeding before sleeps. Very easy to take buckled around my waist as well and swing him up whenever he gets tired on a stroll too. My husband also finds our Manduca easy to use especially for settling when I returned to work.

I bought the Manduca for my now 13 month old son when he was born. Having a newborn and a toddler I needed something that was easy to use and comfortable. I love the ease of getting it on and how well it breathes in the warmer weather. An added feature is the built-in newborn support. There's no need to buy any extras like some other brands.

I totally recommend the Manuka to any parents with little ones! I got this with my first born and it was truly a lifesaver with my Velcro baby - she stayed using this until around 3 (when I got pregnant with my second). Now I am using it with my second baby as she is not a big fan of pram either. It is very comfortable to wear and definitely takes the weight out of carrying hubs, leaving you with arms free for whatever you need. My husband and I can both use it so it is very versatile. Best money I spent for preparing for baby!

Great quality and very comfortable

I love this carrier I'm a large build and find it very comfortable for myself and my daughter. Knowing her hips were at the right angle was important to me and this carrier provides that. Can be tricky to get on and to adjust but easy when you get used to it. The material is great quality. Would recommend.

Comfortable and easy to use
Reviewed on 14 August 2017
I bought this to use at a Kangafitness class but unfortunately I haven't been able to start the classes yet as I have some nerve pain e.g. carpal tunnel. I find the carrier very comfortable to use, if I didn't have the nerve pain I imagine it would be excellent for me. I als have some back pain since having a baby so can't use the carrier for long periods, howeve I find it really useful for settling my 10 week old baby. Last night she was crying as she was tired and I put her in the carrier. Within about 10 minutes of walking around she fell asleep. Ilove having her close to me and knowing that the carrier is hip friendly. When Irecover I imagine using the carrier I lot for going out on trips, around the house and at Kangafitness. Ilove that the carrier has padded shoulder straps as it makes it more comfortable. I feel the carrier holds my newborn more securely compared to others Ihave tried. The carrier can be adjusted to fit both myself and my husband which is excellent so we can share the carrying. I have it in a neutral colour so my husband also feels comfortable wearing it and it goes with any outfit. The carrier is ligh weight and can be rolled up to put into a carry bag for transport or storage. The only downfalls I can think of is the strap at the back can be tricky to do up if you are not flexible or have sore arms like me. I can manage to do it up but it's easier with the helpf of someone else. The newborn insert buttons can be hard for me to do up due to my weak hands. If you have someone else to help do up the buttons and the back strap it's very simple to use, and I can imagine when I'm better it won't be as much of an issue. I am very happy with the carrier and am looking forward to recovering so I can use it a lot more often! My baby loves snuggling into my chest and the carrier provides the right head support, is the perfect fit and the material is soft and breathable. Highly recommended!

Love our Manduca – so does our daughter
Reviewed on 03 July 2017
I was recommended this by a friend as it is the best carrier for babies' legs, and your back apparently. We were given the sand coloured one for our first daughter. She loved it from month one and still loves being in it or falls asleep in it when traveling, 19 months later. It is a bit tricky to put on yourself as I find the top back clip harder to do up than the videos depict it! But you get by.

So comfortable

I love the design of the manduca. I feel comfortable wearing it and I've never had issues getting my baby in and out of it. I live that there is no extra inserts to store for newborns or toddlers. It's one piece that adjusts. The ergonomics of the design keep baby's hips and legs in the M position which prevent the baby from dangling. I was able to get the carrier on byself quite easily, but I would prefer if there were clips at the front the release the back straps. I preferred crossing he straps at the back for more support but that meant had to squash myself into the carrier. Newer models made have changed though.

I got this carrier when I had my first daughter and am continuing to use it almost 3 years later. It's perfect for all ages from newborns to toddlers. I love the options to carry on your front or back and how easy it is to put on and adjust. The option to cross over straps for a front carry makes it so much more comfortable for smaller build people to wear so it doesn't slip off my shoulders. Love using it for exercising with bubs! Highly recommend this product as it's great for hip development of babies too.

Practical and easy
Reviewed on 15 May 2017
My son loved carriers but outgrew his stretchy wrap so I got a Manduca after much research. It was quite easy to use after a couple of practices. I prefer to cross the straps on my back when front wearing as Bub felt more secure that way to me. Be careful with the clips. It's obvious but I still managed to clip myself a few times and Bub once. My main dislike is it wasn't as cosy and snuggly for him so he never slept as long in this carrier as he would in the wrap. Perhaps not the best choice while still an infant. Very good when he was a toddler and travelling though, was perfect with a busy 18mo and again with a terrible 2.

I bought this around 5 months ago mainly for exercising as you can cross the straps for a closer fit. I find the manduca incredibly comfortable and easy to adjust. I have several different babywearing options from my first child but I frequently reach for the manduca. It's easy to buckle up by yourself and you can even use it for back carries, I recommend this carrier to everyone I know!

The one carrier I recommend to all my friends
Reviewed on 12 April 2017
I am a bit of a baby wearing addict (Actually I'm a HUGE addict). I've tried around 26 different carriers, not including Mei Tais and wraps and the Manduca is still the one I recommend to all my friends. It has so many features that make it the most comfortable and versatile carrier I have tried, including: Crossable straps: I find this is the comfiest way to wear carriers as it doesn’t drag your shoulders down. It is also easier to put on and take off as it eliminates having to contort yourself to do up the chest strap at the back! Moulded and shaped waist belt: Of all the carriers I have tried the wait belt on the Manduca is the comfiest. The shaped belt seems to fit the shape of your waist better than most others which are straight. The padding is also the perfect balance between soft yet supportive, another thing I have struggled with on other carriers. Others I’ve found are so stuff that they dig in, or so soft that they offer little support. Padded shoulder straps both at the top and the side of the carrier: Prevents the shoulder straps from rubbing on your shoulders and under your arms Safety clip on waist band: Added protection by ensuring the waist band is not accidently undone Zip up back panel: This allows the carrier to be adjusted between larger and smaller babies which is a feature that only the Manduca has In built newborn insert: The Manduca has an inbuilt insert which is different to most other carriers which need a separate insert if you wish to use it with young babies. This is often an added expense that people don’t realise they need to purchase I have used the Manduca for newborns and also toddlers up to 3 years old and it has been perfect every time. Even my 15kg 3 year old feels light in it. I always recommend this to anyone who is looking for a baby carrier and so far I've had nothing but good feedback! I honesty cannot think of a negative other than the initial cost may be prohibitive to some people, starting at around $180. However one thing to remember is it will last you from new born to toddler hood, and also has great resale value ;)
