Why arms UP?

It is your baby’s natural sleep position that allows your baby access to their hands for self-soothing. Babies often use their hands to settle themselves to sleep, by sucking on their fingers or gently rubbing their cheeks. Medical research suggests that babies sleep better, & for longer, if they are able to self-soothe. So self-soothing = more sleep for the whole family.

The Swaddle UP™ is the only zip-up swaddle available that allows your baby sleep in the arms UP position. The Swaddle UP™ requires no complicated wrapping, so everyone can swaddle right every time.

Need more sleep? Swaddle UP!

  • Snug fit makes your baby feel secure & helps to calm their natural startle reflex
  • Eliminates excess loose fabric in the cot

Best baby product on the market

Hands down the best investments we ever made! Our original purchases from 2011 have lasted into our 5th child! They did my eldest two, then my two nephew's, and now my new baby all over again. Worn day in day out. Faultless. I'D RECOMMEND PURCHASING 3 IN EACH SIZE - one in use, one in the wash and a spare on hand, ready to go! Pro: Excellent sleep cue. Outstanding quality and design. Con: There aren't any!

Must have baby item!
Reviewed on 17 October 2017
I was gifted a Love To Dream Swaddle Up 1 Tog at my Baby Shower. I didn't know much about this item and how it was different to traditional swaddles, but oh how I love this product! The arms up position is fantastic for self soothing during sleep as your little one has access to their hands to suck. Snug but stretchy so they offer the soothing sensation of a traditional swaddle. 2 way zipper allows easy access for middle of the night changes without having to turn on lights or the nightmare of rewrapping your bub. Your can comfortably feed your baby in the Swaddle, I even found I would pop this on before the bedtime feed to get bub into bed mode and reinforce the bedtime routine. Hip healthy design, there is no risk of wrapping too tightly like there is in a traditional swaddle and they worry of hip dysplasia as this swaddle stretches and widens at the hips to allow freedom to move and the natural frog leg position babies sleep in. Tog rated so you know exactly what to dress your baby in for the room temperature which takes the middle of the night worry out of are they too hot or too cold. All of these things mean more sleep for your baby and for you. I am a MASSIVE fan :)

Easy and effective swaddling!
Reviewed on 16 October 2017
My baby enjoyed being swaddled the traditional way for the first couple of weeks after birth. However he began to start wiggling his way out of the swaddle to Free his arms and place them overhead. This wasn’t ideal because his reflexes meant that his arms would thrash about and therefore wake he would wake himself up. After seeing the love to dream swaddles on social media I decided to give them a go. I haven’t looked back since! He loves being able to have his arms up and he is nice and snug at the same time. I really believe they have helped him become a great sleeper. Looking forward to trying the 50/50 swaddle when he’s ready :)

My second bub is 6 months old. Her older brother (now 3years old) was a terrible sleeper for a good two years. Day naps no longer than 20 minutes, and I'd get two hours through the night. I heard about the Love to Dream swaddles and have used them from the beginning with #2. She has been sleeping through the night since about 9 weeks old. She is a big hand flapper and a wriggle worm. The design of these swaddles stop her from waking herself up and escaping like in other wraps! Made from goregous soft material in cute designs. I dont put her to sleep without one of these! If I do - the sleep is not as successful! Im looking forward to the transitional stage with the removal arms - but we aren't there just yet!

Great Transition from Traditional Swaddles!
Reviewed on 05 October 2017
For the past 3 months I have used the Love to Dream Swaddle Up Original with my little girl. I found it to be a great transition from the traditional swaddle with arms across the body. The natural sleep position meant my little one was comfortable when sleeping. The ease of use was fantastic as well and I didn't need to worry about any escapee attempts. The convenience of the 2 way zip was also really handy for nappy changes. At 4 months my little one is now letting me know that she's ready for the next style to give her hands some freedom.

If you're like my partner or I, first time user long time listener, swaddling is an art form... in which we lack the creativity. We also happened to birth the Houdini of a child who hated being swaddles with her arms in. This product was one all my newer mum friends told us we MUST get, so into the hospital bag it popped. This is nline with safe sleeping standards by SIDS. The suit gives the right amount of security to keep a minimal restriction over the startling/morro reflex which often wakes a child, as well as enough leg and hip room as recommended by the hip displasia organisation. Perfect for young babies All year round, day or night!!! Do your self a favour and stop wrapping your baby in origami.

The Love to Dream Swaddles have to be one of the best baby products on the market. As a first time mum I was so paranoid about SIDS, excess blankets, overheating ect so when I was introduced to the Love to Dream brand I immediately knew I had found what I needed! The arms up is perfect for self soothing and the transition to arms out is made extremely easy with the 50/50. I love having a choice of materials and options for different seasons (or just our warmer Queensland climate) and the designs are very cute without being over the top. While the arm/hand sections can get a little smelly they wash and dry easily, and we always have a spare in case of nappy explosions ect! I think I have about eight or so Love To Dream swaddles now, and the quality of the product is so good that I have been able to use them for my second baby :) Great value for money!

I've used Love To Dream swaddles for my two children and cannot fault them. The hands in the 'up' position enables baby to suck on their hands to self settle and they stay warm all night as you don't need to worry about them kicking off blankets. I've also bought the summer lite and winter warm swaddles so am covered for all seasons. Love to Dream swaddles are a nursery essential.

I really liked this swaddle when we first came home from hospital with baby number 1, it made swaddling for sleep so much easier when you're so exhausted and are finding it hard to wrap baby like the midwives told you at the hospital. The 'arms up' position initially I wasn't sure about, but baby slept really well all swaddled up. It's a lovely fabric too! We didn't use swaddles for long because baby decided he didn't want to be swaddled anymore but they were great for that time.

My sister gave me some of these before the birth of my twins, I didn't think much of them and didn't use them for weeks. Once my babies were big enough for the small (3-6kg) I put them in and haven't looked back (EDIT: I now know you can get extra small for babies under 3kg). Pros: easy to use, no need to swaddle double zip makes nighttime nappy changes super easy hands are still accessible for bub to use for comfort cons: not tight enough for one of our babies who still prefers to be swaddled hand area gets a bit manky when they begin to suck them. sometimes too loose when they are only just fitting into that size. can be too hot for 'hot babies'

this product is so awesome! I have 3 children but only bought the swaddle up recently for my third child. I WISH I had one for every baby!! My son slept a full 6 hours for the first time once in the swaddle up (at 4 weeks) the longest he had gone was 3 hours before that! All three of my children fought my swaddling attempts and tried to get their arms free - this product solves that problem by allowing the arms to be up next to their head but still helps control the reflex action without waking them. I recommend adding one of these to your hospital bag and use it from day 1.

I still remember the day I first used this swaddle. My baby was 6 weeks and was ninja-ing her way out of the muslin, so I decided to give this a try for a day nap. She slept 4hrs straight without needing me to resettle her once. It was AMAZING! She loved being able to suck her hands and kick her legs but still be tucked in with all that elastic stretch. A fire alarm went off in my building and she still slept through! The only downside is how grotty the arms get from being sucked on all the time, but nothing a good soak won't fix. Love that this was also hip-healthy and I was still able to use this on my baby girl, even when she was wearing her pavlik harness. Highly recommend!

We love the Love to Dream swaddles. These were the first swaddles that we bought. My son has always liked having access to his hands, so they are perfect for us. The fabric is lovely and light, but still firm enough to provide comfort. It's important to get the right size so that it's firm in the waist. They're a great shape as they allow hip healthy froggy leg positioning and access to hands for self soothing. And so much easier than trying to swaddle a baby! These are foolproof. The double zip makes it easy for overnight changes too. As an added bonus, I think having always had access to his hands, we found transitioning out of the swaddle when he started rolling very easy.

Reviewed on 16 July 2017
I purchased 2 during a sale (to have a spare available as my baby had silent reflux). He always slept with his arms above his head as a newborn and would sneak them out of his wrap so i thought this would be perfect. Whilst it worked quite well to keep him settled and calm if he woke for night feeds (it was a bit tricky to get a good breastfeeding position with him wearing it at first), i found it very difficult to get him to initially fall asleep wearing it. He gets rocked to sleep and it seemed to make him a little uncomfortable through this process. I would definitely try this product again with next bub though, i can see it working much better for children who are better at self settling, or start using it from a younger age.

My baby girl is 5 weeks old and I started using the swaddle after 2 weeks of constant waking up duing the night e.g. every hour, half hour, 15 minutes. The swaddle helps my baby self soothe because of the wings and she loves putting her arms up to sleep. Other swaddles frustrate her by restricting her arms. They come in cute colours and I've now got three! I think I'll be using the whole range of swaddles as she grows.

The best thing about the love to dream swaddle is the ease of use, it honestly couldn't get any easier. I also loved the 2 way zip, making night time nappy changes really easy. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because my baby loved it so much that when he started rolling and couldn't use it anymore, he was so hard to get to sleep because he was reliant on the swaddle. Also just be warned, not all babies will like it. My first LOVED it but my second was not a fan at all. I would still recommend this product to friends though:)

I have used them in the small and medium sizes as I love that they stop bub from waking themselves while the startle reflex is still present. I love the design as bub can still self soothe with their hands. I always have one spare underneath the bassinet in case bub spits up during the night after a feed or sucks too much on her hands. The zips are great as you can easily undo bub's arms before feeding them and also zip up from the bottom to change their nappy without having to disturb them too much. The swaddles wash easily in a laundry bag on the delicate cycle and the ones I bought for my eldest daughter are still going strong second time around. I would highly recommend these as a must have for every parent. I love the designer range as well!

I have tried swaddling the normal way with wraps and blankets but no matter how hard I tried my kids always got their hands out, and I didn't like young babies using only a sleeping bag because their startle reflex would always wake them up. This is the perfect option! Simple to use, keeps them feeling secure and swaddled but still allows them to suck their hands which helps them comfort themselves, and they are very good quality. I am still using the same ones I used with my first daughter 5 years ago and other than a few discolored sections on the hands they are still as good as new. I'd recommend them to any parent who want to swaddle their baby but doesn't want to struggle with traditional swaddle wraps! They are also well priced at around $40, considering sleeping bags these days can be upwards of $70 :)
